Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

Whether your company is considered high or low risk, this course is ideal for the person chosen as the nominated first aider.
It is a popular choice for people looking for an introduction to first aid. At Safe and Secure Training, we will tailor the course to your needs by carrying out an assessment to look at the most likely types of injuries that would occur in your workplace and then create a bespoke program. 

 Content

  • You will be able to understand the role of the first aider

  • The importance of preventing cross infection

  • The need for recording incidents and actions

  • Use of available equipment


You will be able to assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.

  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)

  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking

  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding

  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises,   minor burns and scalds, small splinters)

Duration
The learners will be required to attend all 1 days (6 hrs) in order to complete the course.

Cost
£40 per person (the price is reduced for group training).

Entry Requirements
There are no specific prior qualifications, learning or experience required to undertake this qualification. However, the nature of both the learning and assessment required is such that candidates will need very basic literacy and numeracy skills. The course requires a minimum of 8 candidates to attend each days training with a maximum of 12 per group.
