First Person on Scene (FPOS)

The purpose of the First Person on Scene qualification is to provide immediate life support to the patient pending the arrival of definitive Pre-Hospital care.  Many major security organisations are requesting that operatives hold an FPOS I qualification as a minimum. 

The qualification will be valid for 3 years from the date of successful completion.  Learners will be expected to maintain their skills and knowledge in accordance with their employing/responding organisation.

  • Airway Stabilisation

  • Basic Life Support

  • Early Defrillation

  • Oxygenation

  • Circulatory Support

Duration

1 week (five days) to include practical and written assessments.

Entry Requirements

No specific requirements.  Although a reasonable level of fitness is recommended as there will be practical assessments.
